Your role as Data Privacy Manager
In the role as Data Privacy Manager, you are responsible for identifying and assessing complex data protection risks in both European and Global contexts. Further, you are advising senior management in controlling these risks through monitoring and oversight. This role implicates a holistic approach to the entire organization regarding all areas within data privacy, in which you are building strategies for and supporting different departments in data privacy matters. Further, this holistic view implies an understanding of how particular initiatives align with the larger picture or how existing processes can be leveraged for future use. As Data Privacy Manager you are also expected to contribute to other strategic initiatives of EQT. This role will include:

  • Providing transactional data protection advice, including due diligence and integration support in M&A and other types of transactions
  • Drafting, reviewing, and assisting in the negotiation of data processing agreements
  • Monitoring and interpreting regulatory developments within the field of data protection and advising on their effect on the firm
  • Together with the business development team, acting as a project manager (including coordination of EQT stakeholders and external advisers)
  • Supporting the compliance function, including drafting and implementing internal policy documents for compliance with data protection rules, and providing training to staff
  • Assisting the management and reporting of personal data breaches

Your qualifications

  • Relevant university education within law
  • A minimum of eight years working in an in-house capacity at a large international undertaking or a law firm providing advice on data protection law and privacy compliance
  • Self-starter who can work independently and build trust with relevant stakeholders
  • Characteristics as efficiency, commercial mindset with a high degree of subject matter knowledge as well as creativity
  • Fluency and strong communication skills in English

To succeed in this role, you are an independent self-starter who picks up on the nuances of data protection laws in a wide number of different jurisdictions. You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate frequently within a close-knit team and with various other stakeholders, both internal and external. You are driven by and enjoy a pro-active approach and taking initiatives and have an accurate and detailed oriented approach with high standards. Further, you thrive in an environment with entrepreneurial business leaders regarding your high ambition level and ability to independently drive processes forward. Last but not least, you are a great team player and a natural communicator.
