Head of Logistics-as-a-Service (LaaS) to foodora

We are now recruiting the position of Head of LaaS to foodora. As Head of LaaS you are responsible for launching and scaling the last mile delivery service for retailers (B2B & B2C) and individuals (C2C), enabling the company to become a 3rd-party provider for orders placed outside of their platform.

This role involves acting as a cross-functional project leader for multiple work streams across all departments of the company, including Logistics, Product, Sales and Customer Service. You are also going to build a pipeline of potential retail partners, create an attractive product offering (including pricing and delivery areas) and lead negotiations with large key accounts. You will assume P&L responsibility for the LaaS business which is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years. You will also be part of the Operations department at the company and report directly to the Deputy CEO.


Ownership of our new last mile delivery offering to retailers – Logistics-as-a-Service (LaaS)

  • As Head of LaaS, you are responsible for developing and scaling the company’s last-mile delivery offering to retailers, including P&L responsibility
  • You work cross-functionally with the Commercial- & Operations teams and make sure that all departments are aligned on the execution and scaling of the LaaS business
  • The role does not have any direct reports initially, but once the business is successfully scaled a team will be built to support the Head of LaaS

Build strong partnerships with retailers

  • You identify target verticals & companies for the LaaS offering, creating and scaling a service that is catered to the needs of ultra-fast home deliveries for retailers. You lead negotiations with key retailer partners together with senior executives at the company
  • You create and maintain a strong value proposition that sales reps will be able to push to B2B- and B2C customers

Ensure top-class Customer Experience

  • You make sure the company has the most attractive offering for ultra-fast deliveries for retailers in the Swedish market
  • You define service level agreements together with the Head of Logistics and follow up on performance on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • You make sure to build the best support both for retail partners and their customers together with the Customer Service team


  • Leadership skills – You can lead and coordinate projects with different stakeholders, while not managing them directly. Openness, flexibility and having a “doer” mentality is key here
  • Communication skills – You are an outgoing person who can create trust and influence other people. You are confident in leading negotiations and discussions with key stakeholders
  • Passion for Sales – You are never satisfied until a deal has been closed. You work relentlessly to reach an agreement that both parties benefit from
  • Analytical skills – You combine a hands-on mentality with an appropriate professional and intellectual ability. You have a structured way of working and strong analytical skills, which help you solve any problems that arise
  • Prioritization skills – You can easily prioritize what needs to be done and are able to align with a wider team on these priorities


  • A top-performing candidate who has gained at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. Previous leadership experience is desired
  • Preferably you have a background in management consulting and/or at a fast-scaling startup. You are thrilled by the opportunity of building a new business area from scratch
  • With your excellent communication skills, you are understandable and helpful towards B2B partners. You easily win friends and influence other people
  • You have an academic degree in Engineering/Economics/Business or a similar field. You possess excellent skills in Office 365 and Google Suite
  • You speak and write English and Swedish fluently
